Antique Edwardian jewellery box featuring a silver top and faceted cut glass pot. The lid fits snug onto the glass bottom.
The hallmarks have worn away on the top of the lid, the clearest mark in the letter date which is an 'a' indicating the piece was hallmarked in 1900-1901 in Birmingham, England.
The box is beautiful and compact, it would be the perfect container for small items of jewellery. In the 1900s it would have sat on a Victorian ladies dressing table, filled with her favourite rouge or powder.
